Well I was originally planning on going up to Willard on Monday when I woke up at about 5:45 am on Sunday and decided to go fishing. Headed up to Jordanelle. While it is a little bit of a late start I figured what the heck. On the way up there I encounter a very pretty sunrise very pink. (And we all know the old saying.."Red sky at night sailors delight. Red skies in the morning sailor take warning.") As I get to the top of Parleys it is raining on me and I am questioning weather I am just a dedicated angler or an obsessed angler. I get to the PWC ramp and it is beautiful. I start setting up my tube and realize I grabbed Luke 72's pump instead of mine. Mine has the adapter for my valves and his does not. So at this time I am figuring it was a nice drive, when I remember I have duct tape. And if that will not work nothing will. Well I increase the size of the air valve until it seals in the valves and I inflate my tube. Now for issue number 2. I have been having some issues with my sonar and it will not power up, however the Battery showed fully charged on my volt meter before I left, bummer I am fishing blind. Well I launch and head west of the ramp and find the dink Perch. I placed one in the basket to turn into bait and let the rest go. They are hammering white cutterbugs and curly tail grubs. After growing tired of nothing over 6-7 inches I move on and hook into my largest Smallie to date. I would say about 16 inches and man can they pull. He took a nice run on me when I got him close to the tube. On the way back to the ramp I had snagged up in some of the lake infamous structure and broke off. So I reeled in both rods as I was back in the area where the little dink perch were. I started tying on a new dropper on the one rod when I looked over to see my UL bent over with the tip in the water. I grab the rod and lift up and there is about a 12 in Perch on it. I let him go as I was heading in and one fish does not make a meal, so he was granted a stay of execution. All in all it was a great morning; the lake is starting to turn over as it had a lot of small green algae in it all over the place.
I did notice there are a lot of trees starting to change color. Autumn is a coming. Majja
