BaySport back on the water! Lake Mead Sunday a.m.

Sunday, 09/09/07- WOW! After $760.00 in engine repairs it was time to get back on the water!

Hit the water before sunrise. What a great day!

Headed for the fishing grounds to find stripers splashing here and there on the surface in Gov't Wash. Soon small boils began to appear, nothing big, but enough to let you know that there were plenty of stripers in the area.

Birds show interest across the channel.

Soon the fleet was standing at ready in Gov't Wash, about fifteen strong. Not bad for a weekend. Topwater landed the first striper,a small one pounder. The second was the same. Small fish everywhere! Enough of this, I pledged to jig under these small boils in hopes of catching a larger fish. No fish tacos tonight, I wanted a fish fry!

Bingo! Stripers started coming to the sound of heavy metal.

Two more hit the deck! On and on it went until I tired at 7:45 a.m.

Nice day on the water. Back at the marina by 8:30 a.m. Off the water before the ramp became crowded.

Twelve nice, fat, stripers on the cleaning table. Fish fry here we come!

Very nice BaySport! I was beginning to wonder if anyone was fishing anymore! I haven't been out to the lake in over a month. The last two times i tried to go out I ran into fowl weather. Rain that flooded the valley the first time, and the second time, I got all the way out to the lake to step out of my car into 45mph steady winds! Needless to say, I've been a little cabin-feverish. Hey BaySport, if you ever want a non boater companion on that newly fixed boat of yours hit me up! Send me a PM.

Hey BaySport,

Great report! I am glad to here your ride is functional again. So far the factory still has not even picked up my boat yet. I wish I had a second boat for back up. I am very lucky to have a Great Friend that has a boat. He has taken me out a few times. Hope to be back out on my own soon. Keep up the great reports. I think the top water will get even better if the weather cools down a little.
