Weber River on 3/29-30
#1
Hello everyone, how's everything? I was able to make it to the Weber River this past weekend, and it was fairly productive. On Sat. I fished from about 12:30 until 5 and was fairly successful. The fishing was so good in fact I returned the next day, only a little earlier in the day. I was able to find a spot where the fish must have taken some Viagra, because they were rising fast and lasted all day![laugh] The majority of the fish caught were Whitefish, but there was also the occasional brown feeding alongside. They were feeding on mayflies, lots of them. There was a very strong hatch happening, but the fishing was tough at first because it looked like the fish were hitting off the surface, but they were actually feeding mostly on the bugs in the "flymph" stage just as they get to the surface. So I used an emerger pattern that matched what was in the water and from then on it was fight time on the Weber. I was also able to hook a nice brown out of a deep pool with a streamer pattern I tied.

As far as where I was exactly on the Weber, for now all I'm going to say is somewhere between Round Valley G.C. and Taggart Grill.

Have a fun day, and when is this wind gonna stop??

I noticed today as I was coming down from Coalville that they (DWR), are doing river work on the weber by Henefer. They are installing big rocks in the river and it looks like changing the depth or rerouting the river, does anyone know what else they are doing? WH2
