The Calvert Marine Museum Society will host its annual Bugeye Ball on Saturday, October 13, in the halls of the museum's exhibition building. The event will raise funds needed for the restoration and renovation of the Cove Point Lighthouse and Keeper's House. Anyone interested in attending this benefit event should contact the Society at 410-326-2042 x16, x17, x18, or x46.

Delicious food, fine wines, wonderful live music, and fun festivities will be the themes of this elegant evening. A magnificent dessert will complete the meal as a true "grand finale" to the evening's menu. Guests will also enjoy a variety of fresh seafood items during cocktail hour at the popular seafood raw bar provided by Captain Smith's Seafood. Satin Doll will provide live music during the cocktail hour, and the 25th Hour Band will perform during dinner and dancing. A unique flair, which will return to the 2007 Bugeye Ball, is the popular martini bar sponsored by the law firm of Cumberland & Erly, LLC. A full open bar will also be available throughout the entire evening.

Guests will be treated to a wealth of unique items as part of the Bugeye Ball's silent auction including a hot air balloon ride for two; a custom painted canoe built by the Calvert Marine Museum's Small Craft Guild; fine jewelry donated by G & H Jewelers; a variety of retired Harbor Lights collectibles; a fishing charter adventure aboard the Jennifer Ann; a golf package at South River, Queenstown Harbor, or Potomac Ridge; a private one-hour charter for 40 aboard the historic Wm. B. Tennison; an overnight stay at the Back Creek Inn; a one-year membership to the museum's Bugeye Society valued at $1,000; a football autographed by Art Monk; Cal Ripken autographed sports memorabilia; a variety of artwork by local artists; private in-home cooking lessons; and much, much more.
