Fish Bones
#1
I recently started up a business that produces skeletal fish art. It’s kind of a hybrid between traditional taxidermy and museum preparation. I am looking for some input as to what species are big in this area (salt or fresh water) and what would make a cool skeleton. Check out some our work @ www.helterskeletons.com and let me know what you think.

Welcome aboard boneman and what an interesting business you have.

Where is your business located?? That would help in giving some insight as to what species are around.[cool]

That is a very interesting business and those skeletons are way cool looking, i think a tiger musky would look awesome with all those large teeth! But like tn2 said what area are you in?

We are located in Stuart, Florida. I grew up hunting and fishing down here and have a good handle on the popular species in my area. However, I'm very interested in what hot around your neck of the woods.

There are over 400 species in the Pacific Ocean. Close to 240 of them are local to me. I can get you a list of the more exciting species to deal with.[cool]

[black]The only really unique species we have in this area is called the June Sucker. However, being a federally protected species on the endangered list, I think some folks would frown on me taking one just to disect it for the purpose of looking at the bone structure.[/black]
