Shake and Bake Lagoon Style
#1
I looks like we were headed for some Crappy conditions at Elsinore so we are going to re-plan our adventure for Castaic Lagoon for Saturday October 13th at Sunrise.

You will get the chance to fish my good ole Stomping Grounds for some nice LMB.

Other species include Trout(if they have planted lately), Blue Gills and Red Ear Sunfish. Catfish are always optional as well as some humoungous Carp.

If anyone would like to attend please let me know. Confirmed so far are:

[font "Poor Richard"][green][size 3]I was wondering about the wind too. It has been blowing fairly well all day long here in YL.[shocked] Should have checked with you first before I packed my car. Will let you know about the Blue Lagoon trip later.[/size][/green][/font]

That is a North/East changing to strait North wind.[pirate] We could end up in the poop ally.

The nice part about Castaic during these North wind season is that it kicks up later in the morning and always blows you back to the launch ramp.

It does make for a fun ride in and a lot safer than going against it.[cool]

I just want to make sure that your first float tubing trip is not your last.[pirate]

It is nice to have an enjoyable experience on a first time basis. That helps keep your interest and also give you something to share with the wife.[cool]

I have always enjoyed Castaic. That has been one of my stomping grounds for close to 19 years now. 7 of those years, I worked at the County FD doing water rescues as well as fishing it every day.

I would get the morning bit and the afternoon bite, much like I do now when I am in town. There are still plenty of good Bass to Catch & Release from there.[cool]

... that almost sounds like a lake to take a weekend trip to one day.. drive up.. get a room near by.. hit it early.. then late.. and get at least one more morning in before having to drive back..

.. assuming that ya'll will get lucky and hook into some fish you will need to make sure and give us all a rundown including pictures..

If you are feeling adventurous, there is a campground there. They have RV hook ups as well as space to pitch a tent.

An overnighter would give you a chance to do some awesome catfishing at night time.

A few years ago, I pulled out some cats that were in the 25 to 30lb range. Those a lot of fun to play tug of war with.[cool]

No logs but it does have poles and zippers and stuff like that.

It is actually a 10 x 20 foot tent and is divided into 3 rooms. It can hold the float tubes in 1 room and the sleeping quarters have room for 5 cotts.[cool]
