Lake Mead Saturday

Started early about 5:30 headed for govt' wash tried trolling while watching for boils no action. At one point I thought the birds were following me. Then at about 7:30 We saw fish popping and birds diving near 33rd hole. Steady action till about 10:30. We saw boils from 33rd hole past sand island mainly on the west side of the channel. There were only about 3 other boats which was nice. We were using zara spook's, rat-l-trap's, 4" storm wildeye, and mister twister sassy shad. I had the best luck with the rat-l-trap, but all were catching fish. I lost count after about 20 but I would say we caught about 40 between the three of us. off the water by 11:30. Sorry no pictures left the camera at home, but it was a great trip and almost no wind.

Sounds like a great day on the water! Gotta love it! Zara spooks and rat-l-traps have been the most productive lures for me this fall. Spinnow on the jig. Did'nt make it out last weekend, was under the weather, laying around the house.[] This weekend deer hunt in Elko area.[cool] Be back on the water in a couple of weeks.

I need to switch professions to something that will allow me to spend more time at Mead than in the office. I've been thinking of opening a bait barge in the Boulder Basin near the Hole 33 area. I'll sell live shad and carry all sorts of power and dough baits. Also, a variety of lures, jigs, poppers, etc. Maybe even carry some live crayfish (crawfish). Stripers love them as well.

What do you all think of this idea?

I wish i was deer hunting; this is the third year in a row that I didn't draw. Last year I didn't even put in beause my daughter was born in october. This year I put in for everything and didn't draw anything thats $120 in aplication fees alone [] . So im headed to searchlight to try to get a few quail. Im debating on taking my boat with me to fish lake mojave while im down there (cast n blast!), but might be too much work, and the report hasn't been good. So anyways yes it was a great fishing trip actually the best this year! Have fun deer hunting you jerk [] just kidding about the jerk part.
