I was up there about 3 weeks ago, boats ramps were closed, the water is super low. I didn't fish so I don't know how the fishing is.

The ramp is not closed, I saw three boats on the water yesterday (Thurs.) It is "use at your own risk" You will need four wheel drive to launch. The state park at the south end is closed but the south one by the island is and will be open all year.

There are no ramps that go far enough to reach the water. They are all high and dry. However you can launch off of the beach at the island launch area at your own risk. When I launched there over labor day it was not a problem. They had put down lots of gravel and had a dock in the water. You have to back WAY in to launch a decent sized boat cause its a very shallow launch. But very doable. Keep in mind that this was 5 or 6 weeks ago so not sure of conditions now...

Thanks all, i have a 14 foot alum boat i can carry to the water if I have to. LOL...i was toying with the idea of actually taking a day off work and going fishing, but it was dashed by the job i do. so i will have to check it out in a week or two. I will post a report on it when it happens. thanks for the updates.

drove by today on my way to strawberry. Boats still launching off the beach without any problems. 1 Dock still in the water.

It is my understanding that the lake level is not going to change for the next year or so, until they get some dam work done.
When you take your boat down to the water, don't forget to park your truck in the parking lot or you will get a ticket for parking on the beach. [signature]

I went Sunday morning and got skunked from the bank. There was a guy next to me that caught a Walleye on a worm though. I thought that was kinda interesting.

where were you fishing at that the guy landed the wally? near island, near inlet, or near wallsburg bay? I usually like to get up around the inlet area and work the riverbed and some of those big cut under banks, but with the lake at 31% capacity i think the river is a river all the way out to the end of the flats. i dont think the waters edge is much further east than the island right now...it was always shallow on the flats area, but im sure now its just muddy.

It's the first access area coming up from Provo Canyon (State Park?). I'm not sure what it's officially called, but there's a ranger station right there at the top.
