MARINE RULE HEARING SET
#1
DURHAM, N.H. -- Anglers fishing the Salmon Falls River in Rollinsford; those taking haddock commercially; and recreational harvesters of oysters should note that the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department's Marine Fisheries Division will hold a public hearing on proposed changes in the marine fisheries regulations on Tuesday, November 13, 2007, at 7 p.m. at Fish and Game's Region 3 Office, 225 Main Street, Durham, N.H.

The proposed rules would:

* add a fishing closure below the South Berwick dam in the town of Rollinsford on the Salmon Falls River to the upstream side of the Route 4 bridge;

* reduce the minimum size for haddock taken commercially to 18 inches from 19 inches (to match size limits set by federal regulations); and

* reduce the daily limit for oysters from one bushel to one-half bushel (for information about rebuilding Great Bay oyster stocks, visit http://www.wildlife.state.nh.us/Newsroom...ster_Succe

ss_101207.html).

The complete marine rulemaking notice forms, with original and proposed rule language, may be found at http://www.wildlife.state.nh.us/Legislat...ummary.htm.

Written comments on the proposed changes may be submitted by November 26, 2007. E-mail to comments@wildlife.nh.gov (please specify "Comment on Marine Rules" in subject line); fax to (603) 271-1438; or mail to Executive Director, N.H. Fish and Game Department, 11 Hazen Drive, Concord, NH 03301.
