openning day deer hunting state and private land

not too much to talk about,got to state land area 20 in scotland at 6 am,had a newbe with me and set him up in a deceant spot.there were a unbelievable no.of hunter in these woods compaired to past years,just about all were roaming around.we were all sitting.1 of my buddies saw 4,in a dead run with no shot.the first shot that were close to us were around 9 am.we had a friend that hunted private land that boarders us,him and i are 200 yds apart had a small group come by at 10.30,it was lead by a skipper,that was stopping and looking back,so he waited,he took down a small spike,then a decient doe appeared,missing its lower jaw,lossing blood,he took 2 shots that we not very good,either to hit it or turn it toward me,no luck,missed and went the other way.the rest of us saw no deer.
we split up and i went to my private.got there at 11;30,sat untill dark.about an hour in ,2 very small skipper came out,one still had the outline of spots.they played around for about 1 1/2 hrs.i kept waiting for mom to walk out,but no luck saw nothing after that,but its the first day see what tommarrow brings

Glad to see your seeing deer this year. I know it was tough last year. The ruts on so you should see some atlers soon. Good luck

I had Meshamasick (sp?) tags this year. Didn't see or hear anything, but I did see some fresh sign- which was a good thing.
