Henry's Lake 11/30/07
#1
I made it up to Henry's for the last day. Overall it turned out to be a very good day. It took us some time to find fish and then figure out how to catch them, but once we did, it was lights out. Here are a few pics of the bigger fish we caught.

I also had a good time up there the last week of the season. We caught and released tons of fish. The biggest hybrid that I caught was 23" I also caught a 24" cutt. The average fish was right around 20." I glad that we have the opportunity to ice fish the lake for a week, but I am also glad that it is not open any longer because I think that over the course of a winter the fishery would be affected by the thousands of people who would make the journey for a fish like the ones in the picture. People were getting a little combative as far as crowding into the small holes as it is. The Friday after Thanksgiving I had to move to some new holes because people were drilling too close to me on very thin ice. Anyway I am not griping I take advantage of the opportunity as much as the next person, just saying I think for the lake it is best if it remains the way it is.

I am not trying to stir the pot, but... I do not post weights of fish for a reason. People can not see weights of a fish from a picture. When you post weights even if you are using a certified scale you leave yourself open to unneeded criticism. Most of the people on this board are good people who take a persons word for what it is worth. However, a few people out there in ciber space make it their life's pursuit to tear down other people. I use inches because it is concrete. I have a measuring trough that I throw the fish in and then I slide them back into the water. Weight is just too subjective a 25" hybrid at Henry's could weigh anywhere from 7 to 9 lbs. Just my two cents, not meant to be inflammatory, just a suggestion.

I am not looking for something to argue about nor something to put the guy down about. That hybrid looks huge, bigger than any hybrid I have caught out of henry's. I have seen inches get blown out of proportion just as much as weight. Again nice fish.

Sorry, I forgot my scale. I was going to weigh him gutless when I got home, but forgot. Hopefully next year I will catch another one and then I can weigh him.

Sorry, not trying to imply that you were a problem. I just get excited over weight because I have had a lot of friends leave formums like this because of stupid weight arguments. Glad to have you around. Congratulations BMURR that is a great fish.
