Mantua Fix!!!!!!
#1
It is now the day after my first ice fix of the year. I am feeling much, much better now,

My son and i headed to Mantua at about 3 pm yesterday to "test" the ice. Come to find out it was safe enough for us. 3" of hard safe ice on the north west corner about 100 yards out!

We fished with some new stuff from anglers den in roy and tore the perch up 40 in 2 hours! I will post some pics of the lures tonight. No fish pics, i left the camera home. We kept 8 for my supper about 9-10" and they were all between 5" and 10". The guys that were there before us caught some perch and 2 nice trout about 16" or so.
There was a tiny bit of open water by the east side but 98% of the lake is capped. It should all be safe by sunday. Enjoy[cool]

Good to hear that you made it out. Wish I could have. [Sad]

It was a fast and furious trip last night. First trip of the year, i forgot the chairs, pliers, and many other things. We still caught plenty of fish and Gage had a blast.[Smile]

Nice. Too bad the trout or big gills didn't come to play. [cool]

Great report Brody, thanks for being the first to post about a successful trip to Mantua. Were you fishing in a tent?
