Arrived at Scofield at 8:00 a.m. Fished the area around the northern State Park (Madsen Bay??) Fishing was slow & we had to drill many holes to find "slow". Only iced two rainbows both 14.5-inches. Had one nice Tiger to the top of the hole & he got away. Mainly used meal worms & eggs.
Ice is 7-inches thick and there is 6-8 inches of wet slushy snow on the surface. The wind came up at 10:00 a.m. & we left at 11:30 a.m.
Fished water 10 -12 feet deep & the water was clear enough to see the bottom from inside the ice house. Fish were finicky as they seemed to just nose & play with our bugs - not to hungry today.
