Well one line of them anyways.
the Real Skin Pointer has the same action as the popular pointers. You have heard about them. The Real Skin Pointer has the same action as the popular Lucky Craft Pointers. Nothing has changed, except for addition of the fish skin on the outside. Real Skin is available in Pointers, Staysees, Flash Minnows and a few other baits. It adds about $5 to the cost of each bait, but anybody used to paying $15 for a jerkbait won't mind shelling out another 5-skinfor the addition of the fish skin on the outside.
From the 2008 utah proc page 27. Bait
Utah Admin. Code R657-13-12
Use or possession of artificial baits which are • commercially imbedded or covered with fish or fish parts while fishing is unlawful.

So does this mean a jig tipped with a piece of chub is now illegal?

Kent, are you referring to the lures imbedded with fish parts, or tipping a lure with fish parts? According to the new proc, any lure commercially imbedded with fish parts is prohibited anywhere.

I do it all the time. That's one thing I like about discussion boards. Two people can read the same thing and get two different things from it.

Sounds to me like the fish skin is embedded in the lure. I'm not sure how a fish cop would be able to tell but i'm not willing to spend $20 on a lure which could net me a hefty fine.

Mateo, I'm curious. Have you ever been stopped by a fish cop, and if so, did they check your baits for conformity?

I have been checked by the fish cop, and at Mantua when it was artificial only, I told him that I had removed all baits and scented lures from my tackle box. He said he appreciated it.
I saw the same warden this past weekend at the same lake. Very nice, very reasonable guy. I'm sure there are a few wardens out there who have bad attitudes, bad days or a god complex.
I just try to do my best to follow the rules as they're written, and one would presume that since the rule has been written, somebody wants it enforced.

Sounds like a nice guy.
LIke I wrote, though; just a curiosity. Not gonna buy a fish-skinned Lucky. I've got 3 Lucky's now, and haven't had great success with them, which I assume is my fault. But nonetheless, I'm out of the Lucky purchasing business for a while.
