Yuba- west side drive by

Drove by the west side of Yuba on the way home this afternoon. There was a little group of people fishing on the ice just off the west beach. There is some open water from the state park down around the dam, but it's pretty much capped. I threw a softball sized rock off the bridge and it didn't go through. It did make enough of a hole to let water onto the ice though, I'm guessing it's about an inch or so thick. The ice looks much thicker about a hundred yards out. I would guess it'll be safe by the 1st. The roads are another story. Mostly snow packed from I-15 to the dam and further south. No plowing whatsoever.
