I went to Sportsmans today to pick me up some waxies.. They were out.. So I went to Smith & Edwards.. I asked for a dozen.. She brought out a container of 250.. Thats all they had and they would not break them down..
How long will they stay before the either die or turn to moths / bees ? Any suggestions on keeping them health ??

Dave,
Keep them in the fridge where they will stay cool. They dont do well if they freeze in very cold temps. Keep the black ones that do die cleaned out and this will help them to last longer.

From what I have heard you want to keep them around 40 degrees. The door of the fridge is usually a bit warmer than the shelves and should work ok.

I picked up a 250 pack at S & E 2 weeks ago.
I keep them in my unheated garage and they are doing fine.
Like already said keep from freezing them when in use.

I order them in bulk online from beaver bait Co. and only take what I think I will use with me on the ice. I have had them last for months in the fridge. I also ordered butter worms this year and so far I am impressed with the results. They are similar to a wax worm but have a tuffer skin and stay on the hook for repeated fish. Beaver baits has very prompt delivery (last order took 3 days) and other than a bad batch of spikes last year I have never had a problem. They have very heathy bait.
