Looks like a tiger to me. Probably planted on accident but I wonder if it could be one of those rare natural ones from the upper provo maybe where there are browns and brooks. Thanks for postng it though.

You are correct, Jacksonman, in the fact that tiger trout, as well as splake, sometimes occur naturally. In my opinion it was a simple stocking mistake. (or blessing?)

[cool][#0000ff]I copied, cleaned up and enlarged that picture. My guess is that it is one of the numerous cutthroat that occur in Jordanelle. I have caught and seen lots of them in there. Never heard of or seen a tiger from Jordanelle. That fish (in the picture) has no spots on the head. Tigers do. [/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Very unlikely it would be a natural tiger hybrid. DWR has to work hard to create their tigers. Very tricky on the timing, etc.[/#0000ff]

I completely agree with you. Yes, interesting looking fish, but I don't see much of a resembelnce to a tiger at all. [cool]

Looks like a cutthroat/rainbow hybrid or cuttbow. Seen some at Strawberry that look like it. Green head is a give away.

[cool][#0000ff]Sorry. No cutbows in Strawberry. Bonneville cutts (Bear Lake strain) and sterile rainbows.[/#0000ff]

Not a splake, splake have a maze pattern on the back like lake trout. The head is one solid color so it's probably not a tiger either. Looks like an ugly cutt or something.

Not sure what the fish is. It could just be an ugly cuttbow. If it was a tiger it could have easily come from Mill Hollow when they drained it. Years ago we had fish show up in the river close to where Jordanelle is now that came down from the broken dam at trial.

I'd guess an ugly Bow. Take a look at the fins, no orange. It also missing the infamous red throat slash.
