No ice here in the Grand Rapids area. At least none that I would walk on. Water levels for the river are still quite high but at least they are not going up anymore. As long as it stays cold fishing conditions should get a lot better over the next week.

I was up to lake Cadilac the other day. I didn't fish because I was up there on business but they had good ice there. Quite a few people out there fishing. No word on fishing..I was in dress pants so there was no way I was going out there and asking anyone.

You see those two shanties to the right ?
That's where I ice fish on my way home from the Manistee !

When you get to Mc Donalds turn left at the light (continuing 55), about a couple business down on the left is an excelent tackle store .
It's about the only one in the area that sells glo-bugs (flys ) .
Perfect for when the Kings run the river .

No, no, no , those aren't my shanties , thats the spot I fish[blush] . There's a nice deep sloping hole there , lots of rocks and a weed bed [].
lots of fish in there . I have a single man colapsable that fits in my bucket [cool] .

we are just starting to get some ice, but jeash o my knee, its susposed to hit 40 again by the end of the weekend...[pirate]

I saw that on the channel 7 website .
We have plenty of ice up here ! If you want i'll see if the county can scrape it off our roads and send it your way [] .
The kids have not had a solid week of school since november , they will be in school a little longer this year to make up for all the extra snow days [cool] .

We just had the driveway plowed and it started snowing again [] !

we got enough ice to get out for the weekend, caught a few gills, nothing special, was good to get out.....

worm and rain yesterday and today, hope for more cold weather for the comming weekend...

I wasen't too comfortable on the ice over here .
Drilled a hole went to plunge it out and hit another layer 4" down .

we are gitting rain again for two days, susposed to cool back down again and snow tomarow... but just barily getting back to the freeze mark.... I may be off the ice for the rest of the week unless we get a dip down in to the lower 20 to stiffen our 6 inches of ice back up.....

Oh it is just miserable out here tonight !!!!!
The snow just isn't letting up , the roads are pretty bad and if it wasen't for the dogs barking I would have had a pic of 4 deer huddled up against the pick-up in the driveway .
Usually the deer would be in the pine row out back or down the street . The driveway is a little slick , maybe it's time to sprinkle some shelled corn on it for better traction [] .

Hoghton lakes ice is at 12"[cool] .
nobody has cought the $2,500.00 or the $200.00 waleyes yet !

we are back up to 8.235 inches, people are still falling though...

We have icy roads , snow squals daily and my dsl keeps getting knocked out by the daily snow-squals .
There are 5' to 15' snow banks along side the roads in town . I'm lucky , the 4WD just hops over the downed branches from the weekend ice storm but i do have to replace the windsheild on the Durango after it hit a low hanging treebranch covered in ice .

It's been a really long , long winter here .

well we finaly got up to 10 inches of ice this past weekend...

looks we will have ice for another week. one good rain will wash it all away [pirate]

we lost one boy to falling though the ice last week on the rouge river, some kind of dare from other kids... hope I dont have any of those kind of friends....

We haven't had anything on the news up here about any fatalities at all . I think they put a hush hush order out or something to keep the tourist trade going .

maybe the guys are listening to us [cool] I havent heard of any deaths from up state either...

falling thoughs dont realy get much attention unless the fire department or some kid dose a meraculous saving...

three guys went though my lake on the same day a couple weeks ago....
