High Plains Drifter

Just got back from Jordanelle. Fished from 10-11am. Would have stayed longer, but took dog along & she was paw-deep into the slush. Brought along a towel-in-black-plastic-bag for her to lie on, which worked fine, but conditions weren't great to begin with, and they got worse. Parking area to & fro plowed clean up there at Hailstone, but the new snow has made the walk down & up the ramp a cardio workout. Some areas are crusted over; otherwise, it's sinking in a foot every step, especially on the way back. Once on the lake, it's Slush City. I toughed it out to about 1/3 the way over to that bay to the NW and was thinking of going home, but decided to set up Base Camp in the Death Zone. Holed over 51' and got enough cleaners for dinner-for-two, but then the sun disappeared & the wind began. About two feet of snow/slush/ice on top. But just like Strawberry in March, that slush isn't fisherman friendly. Guess I'll sulk until next week's Boat Show.
