Farmington Pond
#1
Just new to the board, I have enjoyed reading all the posts, great info.

A buddy and I had very little time Sat to fish, so we went to Farmington Pond. Got there at 1pm and could not keep the fish off the hook...the kids had a great time. We kept a few...but most were in the 8 to 10 inch range...lots of catch and release.

Small white jigs tipped with mill worms. I want to go back and catch some Cats on the bottom....

Dang, that is news to me...I even locked my keys in my truck and had two Farmington Cops help me out....they did not not say squat...actually asked me how the fishing was! If it is closed then where do I find that info out?

I don't think that it's closed in the winter now.
I have talked to a guy that fishes it almost every day through the ice, without any problems.

I believe it is a city ordinance or you can look in the Community fishing handbook. It may very well have changed since i got kicked off.

I live in Farmington, and looked on their web-site, there is no info on weather or not it is closed, on the DWR website it has is listed as closed as tubedude said. Farmington city po po arn't going to worry or enforce any of those rules, it would be a CO.

Spring starts in 20 more days, so you won't have long to wait. Even if there's still ice and snow, it won't -technically- be winter anymore!
