Ice fishing for bass

Has anyone been catching bass out of the ice?

Yes here in Ut I have got a lot of LM bass through the ice on some lakes, SM bass are harder to find through the ice but we do get them on some lakes...

I find that what you get them on in fall they will take in winter as well...

Sounds like you are doing things right over there, lol I can't catch a bass out of the ice this season for some reason, I need to find out what I am doing wrong.

Look at it this way, the lake you are trying to ice fish on how many bass do you catch in summer and do you move around a lot???

When ice fishing you fish a spot 6" 8" or 10" in one spot, in summer you cast to cover and move down the shore so it will be harder in winter...

Most of the spots I ice fish at for bass I have fished them in the fall and early winter just before ice up so I knew the fish was in the area...

That is very true. It even makes it easier to "Sissy" fish them. hee hee.

Did you ever see how slow a minnow is in the Winter?? Easy pickins' bro.[cool]
