Springfield late winter, early spring
#1
Hello everyone,
This time of year, trying to find open water is a challenge. One of my places to winter fly fish is Springfield Lake. I was wondering if any of you out there have been there lately, and what seemed to work best. I don't think I'm a good fly fisherman yet, but I have been putting in some time. Hopefully I'll get better at it. Last week I did really well with a simple black woolybugger, stripping it in behind a strike indicator. Last evening they didn't even want to look at it.
Anyone have an idea on what to try?
Thanks!

I do not know this time of year in particular, but I would try chromonids. I would contact flygoddess on the flyfishing board for some advice.
