Where is this black canyon or the part in the picture. Is it up by palliSades?

I am asking cause I am interested in floating it with my toon and am wondering about those stairstep in the river.

Hi
Poky,mon--that second attachment is one heck of a picture. I was so interested in the number of deer, I almost missed the pheasant in the pic. This time of year makes for great wildlife viewing. My wife and I drove up to Lucky Peak yesterday (just minutes from downtown Boise) and in one spot alone saw antelope right by the road, tons of deer just up from them, and a good number of elk--all bulls--up higher. Looks like you picked a nice day to soak it all in. Mike

Always an enjoyable area. Looks like the water was close to perfect- a tinch high but pretty close. Did you stay with in sight of the bridge or hike ?

That is a great report. I grew up in Preston and black canyon was my where my old man taught me how to fly fish. I love that place, usually not many big fish but it can be a really fun place to fish. Thanks for the report.
