Does anyone know what the ice-slush conditions are at Rockport? Is there open water on the edges? Any info would be greatly appreatiated, Thanks.

I haven't been there personally but I was at Sportsmans today and on there board they said that the edges were soft but still safe ice.

Thanks, I went there on MLK Day and got my 4-wheeler stuck repeatedly when it would break through the crust.

I was at Echo today and the conditions were perfect for either a snowmobile or a quad. The ice is at least 2 feet thick, the edges were super solid both getting on at 8 AM and getting off at Noon. The snow is melting down and is very compressed both on the ice and on the shore, so travel should not be a problem at all. I'll be back at Echo on Monday or Tuesday.

My neighbor and I did squat. But there were some folks there that had about 30 nice perch and a trout or two chilling on top. I'm not at liberty to divulge the exact location of those other folks under penalty of death.[
