Willard Bay
#1
Checked Willard today and can say there is no shortage of ice. We found some open water around the North Boat Harbor but it was about 2 feet deep and no fish we tried [Wink] Everywhere else is iced over and the edges looked unstable. We did not check the thickness of the ice.

I launched my 12'er today and fished the open water in the N. marina with only 1 bump. The channel is 7' and goes up fast from there on the sides. We got next to the ice and made a wake and the ice broke up with little effort. A good wind and she will open up quick. The water that was open was very muddy. DO NOT attempt to lauch a large boat until it gets another 2 or 3' of water. You will loose your prop.[cool]

Well this is good news, thanks guys for getting out there and checking it out. Hey Brody, is the channel open to the mouth of the bay, where it usually comes up on that shallow spot before it drops into the deeper water of the bay?

By tomorrow afternoon it should be about 50 yards past that point. Right now it is just past the 2 points in the channel. To the north in the little pocket is open but very shallow. Tubers could fish it probably without incident.[cool]

Thanks Brody, I know Reelfast wants to get on there to check out his boat this weekend but it sounds like we will need a really big wind to blow it off the whole lake by this weekend.
