Lincoln Beach ice free
#1
Just got back from qa drive down to Lincoln beach. A steady North wind has removed the ice from the west side of the lake. I suspect that the whole lake is now ice free, but I don't know about provo boat harbor where it is protected,

You can't launch today because of an ice build up at the end of the jetty, but that will be gone by tomorrow. There is substantial ice around the L and along that stretch directly North of the orchards, but that too will be gone tomorrow or sunday.

A lot of lakes are red hot immediately after ice off, but Utah lake isn't one of them. I think it will probably be a day or two or even a week or two until the white bass school and the precocious male walleye start to feed. Keep teh wind to your back.

Nice to hear, that should get it plenty warm enough for the catfish kids fishing day. I don't expect the kind of turn-out there has been for the Perchathons (RA-RA to all those folks) or the wiper contests of the high water years at Willard, but I'm hoping for some.

I have never fished Utah lake, never caught a catfish, never been to Lincoln Beach. It should be fun.
I have a 19' I/O, can I safely launch at Lincoln?

you'll do just fine in your 19' boat, we have an 18'er and lauch there all summer just don't get to close to the shore on the sw side of the lake it's really shallow near the edges all over outh there.
