Tiger trout coming to Colorado public waters? Maybe!!!

The Colorado DOW is breeding them and it looks like they may have a predatory role in a lake near you, starting with the Grand Mesa. Oh boy!

The comments people made about the article were all negative. Not too suprising as this seems to be mosts people's response to goverment run programs that don't pertain to native species. But I see this as a positive step and exciting new fishing in Colorado. Whirling disease resistant predatory fish in some lakes and rivers would be beneficial as I see it. I'm not in favor of it at Spinney (I love that place) though.[] What do you guys think?

On a side not, I know the Brunjak's and might have to give them a call to ask for access to Mt. Massive Lakes[laugh].

I agree with you, hartz. They're a great new tool to manage populations where there needs to be another fish with teeth, so to speak. They do not belong everywhere, but they would be a great addition in some waters.

As for Mt. Massive, I've fished it. Too easy. []

I would love to see some tigers around. It would give me a reason to pick up the fly rod again. Hey Don you must of fished the easy lakes. There are a couple of lakes on the property that are 100% natural and believe me they can beat the best of anglers. But the reward is worth it. You just have to force yourself not to go to the lakes where the fish are jumping out of the water and into your hands.[]
