Finally made it out on the soft water in the tube. Didn't take me too long to put the finder back on the tube. But trying to figure out what hooks I wanted to take, that took awhile.
Hit the water down at Utah Lake by the bubble up at 1:30pm. By 1:45 I had the biggest mama I've ever caught. 11lbs 3oz she didn't put up a huge fight, but it was a good way to start the season. Landed one more kittie that was just over 3lbs. Fished from 1:30 to 3:45 with the storm coming in the whole time. The water was 52 F, waders were needed.[shocked]

[#0000ff]We gotta have a "gorilla floatilla" down there at night sometime this summer. Maybe get a "pool" going for the first kitty over 15 pounds...or 20?[/#0000ff]

Sorry forgot to add the little bro part. We are a little on the competitive side. Fishing, hunting, shooting, making a new jig that works, you name it. Best part about his new cat is it's my turn to catch a bigger one.[cool]

Yes there have been some great tips from the jigmaster. Much easier when you know the basics and a few tricks.

I am sure having that resource in the area is a great help in learning how to do something new like that...

Peaked! I'm just getting warmed up. I have set a 100 catfish summer goal. And plan on learning to fish Willard to get 15-25% of that goal.[cool]
This was my first trip that I had a scale to weigh my fish. I have caught some really nice fish down there in the past. But without even pulling her out of the water I knew she was heavy. And I plan on getting bigger the more I learn.
And for no invite. It was not your 'fishing day' of the week. And I had enough trouble getting my stuff ready. I didn't want to wait.

You still could have called to find out I was asleep for the first time in a couple of days.[sly] Again nice fish.
