Me and a friend took a ride out to East Canyon. There some open pockets of water in places where guys were fishin from bank and the edges are all melted off looks like in a week or so it might be pretty much open water if the weather gets nice again. We thought about fishin a few of the coves that were open but just drove on by to get a look at the rest of it. I could be wrong on the time frame i not good at judgen that but the middle of the ice in areas had nice 20 to 30 foot wide gaps and alot of the coves were open a good bit plus it looked like ice was about any where from 20 or so foot from the bank didn't get out and really measure lol just at a glimps drivin by.

You are probably right, another week, week and a half and it will be all open water, with a few bergs floating around. Thanks for the update.

Thanks for the report! I can't wait to head up there on my pontoon. How was the water level looking?

I can't really say on water levels for surtain I only fished it once so I am unsure how high or low it is sorry I can't report that. All I know is I can't wait for the ice to clear off so I can drop my tube in it.

Now's the time to hit it when you can still cast to the ice. Once the ice is completely off it will slow down considerably for a while. Throw some 2 inch- 1/16 ounce tube jigs to the ice edge and let them sink to the bottom. Fish the bottom 2 feet S L O W L Y.
