Redfish Lake
#1
Heading up to Redfish Lake this summer to camp along with my boat and downriggers; all sorts of pop gear, etc. Wondering if it is a decent fishery and if anyone has fished it successfully in the past 2-3 years? If it's not worth taking the boat I'll leave it home... Thanks![Smile]

I am headed up there with my family in mid-summer. I have never fished it but look forward to trying my luck. Any thoughts or ideas would be great. Thanks.

Redfish is iffy, but Stanley can produce some good kokanee and macinaw fishing. The macs run into the "teens". PM me if you are interested in the lake trout. Mike

I was up at Redfish Lake a few years ago and didn't have time to fish.

There was little fish activity and most of the guys who ran the boat rentals said that fishing was poor at best.

With gas prices what they are I wouldn't take the boat just for Redfish. Too bad it isn't Henry's because the scenery is unbelievable...

I don't believe grayling are in Stanley Lake. It does have a relatively good population of kokanee, it is regularly planted with rainbows, and it has a few lakers (mackinaws). The Fish and Game haven't planted macs in there since the 70's, and I am not sure if there is natural reproduction, but I think there may be. Mike
