Sending PMs

[#0000ff][size 4]1. Go to the blue bar at the top that has Home, Profile, PM, Who's Online and Search. Click on Private Messages.[/size][/#0000ff]

[#0000ff][size 4]2. You will get a page labeled Private Messages. Click on "Compose Message".[/size][/#0000ff]

[#0000ff][size 4]3. Type in the subject.[/size][/#0000ff]

[#0000ff][size 4]4. Enter the BFT name of the Recipient. This is "case sensitive" and you need the space bars or other things in the name. You can copy and paste to be sure. [/size][/#0000ff]

[#0000ff][size 4]5. If you cannot find the name on a post, there is a Member Directory. However, at this time, when you click on a letter to find the name, it only displays one page so you may not be able to find the name if it is several pages back for that letter.[/size][/#0000ff]

[#0000ff][size 4]6. Once you have the subject and recipient entered, set up your message and send it.[/size][/#0000ff]

When you are at your profile page you can choose the link "Go To Private Messages Inbox" and from there follow your steps you mentioned. Also there is an option of a buddy list which I having them add to the sub nav and also on the profile pages, sorta like a "Friends" list on myspace or facebook. So when you are in the PM area you should be able to select from you buddy list to send a PM easy.

As far as sending PMs easier, What would be easy for sending PMs on the profiles? Do you mean an option for sending PMs when you are on your profile or sending a PM when viewing another user's profile page? Let me know so I can fix it properly for your preference.

I appreciate the notification on the member directory and only one page viewed issue. I'll send it over.

I appreciate the patience and positive outlook. This site really will be great, just have to work out some bugs. Let me know about other serious issues or ambiguous areas of the site with a PM.

We should be able to send a pm when viewing user information of another member just like the old site. So if i was looking at your user info, i could click "send private message" and it would go to you. That help?

[#0000ff][size 4]The idea of a Buddy List is great, for those we communicate with on an ongoing basis. But, when a newbie comes aboard, or we want to send a PM to a poster rather than reply to the post...and if they are not in our Buddy List...it is a pain.[/size][/#0000ff]

[#0000ff][size 4]For the sake of simplicity, can we have something like we were used to? Just click on the user name to bring up the profile, with an option to send a PM? Otherwise it takes several clicks and menus and typing in a name before we can send a PM.[/size][/#0000ff]
