The last 2 years they started stocking in March and April; especially in several places I am used to fishing at. This year they STILL haven't stocked anywhere and it's almost May already! That's a 2 month delay from normal, what's up with that? Anybody know what's going on or when they will finally start stocking this year?
I'm trying to teach a couple newbies to fish basically for the first time...going hours or days with no catches is OK once in a while, but for newbies it's pretty disappointing.

I know kaysville ponds were stocked last wednesday. If Kaysville got stocked, I would imagine there were many others that have been stocked as well.
Call the dwr and ask them where they have stocked..
They haven't started updating the stocking report yet on their website..

That's weird. I was just fishing there (Kaysville Ponds) this weekend and it was DEAD. We had 9 people there for several hours and nobody got a bite with anything. We didn't even see a single fish come up to bite either.
I had a wireless fish detector with me, and ran that around the pond, and only saw a couple small ones period. Maybe they only stocked one of the ponds there, because the middle one (which is the one I find is usually the most active and most often stocked) was completely DEAD.
Do you know which of the Kaysville ponds were actually stocked? How did you find out? I didn't know we could call DWR to ask them about stocking...I thought they intentionally posted the stocking details a week or so late so people wouldn't just go where they said they just barely stocked.

Last year by this time I got my first stocking report from them. They usually delivered an update to me about every 2 weeks throughout summer and into early fall.
I don't know why, but I haven't heard anything at all yet this year. I'll contact Cory Maylett at the DWR (he has been the one in charge of the website, and of posting up the stocking report), and see what's the holdup.
I'll let everyone know as soon as I find anything out.

I don't know if anyone can get the report. Most likely, they will just refer you to the DWR website where they also post the report.
I get it because I specifically asked for a copy of the data. I use it on my website to display the reports for users. I try to translate the report into a more readable form.
(They send me a spreadsheet, where county, fish species, etc. are represented by codes and abbreviations which make it difficult to decipher what it is).
I like my reports better than the DWRs, because I also convert the shorthand things they abbreviate, like
L into Lake
RES into Reservoir, etc.
Go here to see what I mean.

That is really cool. I like the idea of how you do your report better too. Your site wasn't working when I just barely tried it, but I saved the link and will definitely refer back to your site in the future regarding stocking info. Thanks for the link.

That's alarming. My site's never been down, ever. Please try again when you get a chance and let me know if you have further problems. Thanks.
