I've heard that ec was bought out by the federal forest and going to charge $15 launch. Has anyone else hear of that? And I also heard that mantua is going to charge $8 a day. Is that true???

Stop that kind of talk, you'll scare the children.
You heard, huh? From where? Cite a source, we have some researchers around here that can get the answers, probably with a phone call.

I heard about EC from a very trustworthy friend. Hope it's not true. I also heard that Mantua was going to have a fee from the local sheriff.[mad]

The only National Forest that may do this is probably the Wasatch-Cache National Forest. Now that you have be thinking about this, I wonder if they are trying to generate funds by selling water or fees from the reservoir. I will difinitely check up on this if I get a chance to tomorrow.
I do know that the National Forest Service is understaffed and underfunded. Boy, what are they trying to do?

I would not doubt that Mantua will start charging, I have expected it for years. Now with the nice parking, launch and bathrooms, it was just a matter of time.
EC is different, unless the state park is on a Fed lease and that lease is ending, there is a process that has to be gone through to sell state owned lands. If the state park is on Fed land and is leased, kiss it goodbye.

Doesn't surprize me at all. Now that gas prices are sooo cheap, they need to charge us for more stuff. Soon they will probably start charging $50 entry fee to fish the community ponds.

Yea no kidding. It is not bad enough we get fleeced every time we fill up the trucks and the boats. But since business is dropping off as more people are choosing to say close to home lets raid the price to get in as well.

I agree, it would be strange for the State to spend all that money to rebuild the EC state park if they knew the Feds were going to get it. WH2
