Though it's been cold and wet, most reservoir in the Southeast Region are ice free.
<br>Blackfoot Reservoir still is half covered in ice. But Chesterfield is mostly open with small patches of ice. Folks are fishing the reservoir with decent results. Water temperatures are rising and bass, bluegill and crappie are becoming more active and should start spawning soon.<br>
<br>Many of the small irrigation reservoirs have been stocked in the last two weeks.<br>
<br>Some still turning over, but others are done and water is clearing, such as Daniels and Hawkins reservoirs.<br>
<br>Open reservoirs include Twenty-Four Mile, Deep Creek, Devil Creek, Montpelier and Weston. Anglers report catching fish in Twin Lakes Reservoir.<br>
<br>Good reports also are coming from the Willows on American Falls Reservoir. Dark patterns seem to be working best, including leaches and streamers, and are bringing in big fish. Anglers are catching fish from the bank and boats - trolling with Rapalas and fishing with nightcrawlers.<br>
<br>Anglers also report catching smallmouth bass at Sportsmen's Park. Most reservoirs are fishing well, with good reports from anglers using caddis flies and blue wing olives.<br>
<br>Runoff has begun and rivers are swelling with snow melt. Expect high-murky conditions in rivers and streams over the next several weeks.<br>
<br>The Portneuf River is rising, but still fishable; with runoff and whitewater releases, Bear River is not.<br>
<br>Reports from Fort Hall Reservation indicate good fishing with a sizeable caddis hatch.<br>
<br>Anglers also are fishing the Snake River, and reporting good results at the Tilden Bridge. The river is open above American Falls Dam and downstream of Eagle Rock. The reach between Eagle Rock and American Falls Dam is closed. But the Snake River may still be too cold for fishing below Eagle Rock.
