OLYMPIA - The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) is now accepting applications for membership on its Shooting Range Public Advisory Committee, which evaluates shooting range grant applications for the department.
<br>Applications are available from WDFW at 360-902-8408 and must be completed and returned by June 2.
Since 2002, WDFW has coordinated federal grants for shooting ranges that promote recreational shooting in a safe and educational environment. Members of the public advisory committee help rank grant applications before the department makes its recommendations to U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
A one-day training session will be held in June to provide new members of the advisory with an overview of the program and its responsibilities.
