Lake Mead June 7th

Hello,

Me and my fishing buddy got a late start, 8:00AM on the water, and putted up to the Vegas Wash area. I'm breaking in a new outdrive so it was REAL slow going. If anyone saw a crazy guy plowing through the water kicking up a huge wake like an a$$ it was me, sorry.

Finally made it up there and looked in the coves for bait, nothing. Maybe I just don't know what I'm doing, as I've yet to net shad.

So we started to troll with umbrella riggs in a few different patterns. Trolled real fast and also really slow. Ended up landing about 8 small 12" schooler strippers through the day, fine for me because they tasted good. Seemed pretty slow compared to days past.

We anchored for a while and soaked frozen shad and chum in about 40' of water. Nothing, not even a nibble.

It was amazing how much the water's dropped. I remember when I could putter up the wash a ways, now there's just mud...
