Novice Tiger fisherman (but trying)...
#1
Heading to PV in the morning bright and early, you guys have been alot of help on information of lures and tactics (much appreciated) I am usually a fly fishing guy and will be taking my fly rod just in case, but I have loaded up on lures and beer for another shot at a Muskie. Take a look at my tackle and see if I have a chance. I am taking two rods 1 loaded w/ #20 and another w/ #14 test, plenty of steel leaders and sturdy swivels. I could not find any bucktail spinners (but I never made it to Sportsmans).

A couple of those cranks might work, but I would recomend that you invest in some j-13 rapalas in perch or brown trout patterns. You might wanna try usin buzz-baits in white, chartruse and a combo of the two.
Pound the banks with any of these retrieved to deeper water, and always keep your eyes open for the tigers on top water. Be careful, they spook very easily.
Hope this helps.

Yep, some of the cranks look like they could pull a musky... but then again the biggest muskie I have caught came on a tube jig.

Throw that jointed rapala on the left. [cool]

Thanks Tyler, like I said lots of good info. from people on this forum, and everyone has their own favorites. I guess I was shooting for a good base to start from and then go from there. I think I have a good start. I had a really good follow and take last week by about a 30" Tiger on a Rainbow colored spoon but I was late on the hook set.

I will just go pound it and see what happens, hopefully I will have some pics to post and a report tomorrow night.

That perch pattern tail dancer or shad rap and the silver/black X-rap should do you good. You should try and throw in a chart. buzzbait too.[Wink]

Thanks Brody, I took the last half of the day off work and picked up another jointed J-13 Rapala and an F-11, I am sure hoping that tomorrow is the day I get my first Tiger!!! They didn't have any Chartruese buzz baits, I will go to Sportsmans next week.
