Willard 6-27-08
#1
Hit Willard Thursday night with a few buddies.

Trolled cranks at 3.5 mph for the better part of 4 hours. Landed a total of 6 wipers and 2 walleyes. Fished the west dike and freeway bay, caught fish at both locations. Wind picked up around 9:30 and damn near got out of hand. 4' waves within 30 minutes, we were soaked by the time we got back to the marina from all the spray.

Launched from South Marina, still 3-4 feet all the way out the channel. Water temp. was between 74 and 80 throughtout the lake.

Myself with the biggest wiper of the night and a beer laden buddy with a healthy eye...

Nice fish! I'll bet they were quite surprised when they found out they had been nabbed by a cook![Wink]

Yeah, they knew right away what their fate was! That wiper is some fine eating. It was so good I even went all out and ate some veggies along with him.

I will be out again Monday night and hopefully find the schools a bit better than thursday.
