North of the Border Bass Fishing!!! (Idaho)
#1
A buddy and a few fellow BFTers (buddies/co-workers) (Bass-Trackin, Lovetograbbass and Redhook) decided to hit the road early this morning and check out Glendale. I was ready to go by 3:50 this morning but the others had to powder their noses, iron their shirts to look pretty and what not, so we didnt get on the highway until 5:05 and on the water until a little after 7. Anywho, the fishing was excellent I caught 11 LMB, 1 Bluegill and 1 Perch. My buddy in the boat with me caught 8 LMB and 1 really nice 3.1 LB Rainbow. I am not sure what the total's were for the other guys (other two boats) so hopefully they will chime in and let us know. I left at around 1 since there were about 30 ski boats out and about!!! Hope the pictures come out okay.

Well I caught 25 LMB 1 crappie and a bunch of blue gill that I just shook off the hook. The large mouth bite was great early in the morning. I caught a pretty nice one right at the boat launch but I forgot to take a picture in fact I forgot to take a lot of pictures today. I caught six over 15 inches but only one over 16 and he went 17 in half. There was a bass club from Salt Lake having a tournament out their today and I've never heard of them in fact I forgot what the clubs name is but I wish I was in it because I am sure I would of taken there money with some of the fish I seen them putting in the live well. Koch I am thinking Condie next weekend.

I might go to Condie tomorrow, maybe Johnson, Lamont or Twin. Who knows!!! I actually should try to avoid those places since they are so loaded with them "TRASH FISH" that you like so much.....BASS!!!![:p] They sure do put up a fight, guess I would too if I had two treble hooks in my mouth!!! Yes I said two.......double-jointed Rapala is what gets it done, not those lazy......."arsh".....gulp minnows!!!![Wink] Oh yeah, you didnt win the big fish either, I already paid Wade his $5, so fess it up goober!!!![blush]

If want to go to Condie lets round every one up again and go but with less boats so I don't get stuck with the gas bill. And I don't use gulp minnows I use gulp turtle back worms and thats how it's done. Yeah your right I guess Wade did catch the biggest fish just not the biggest bass. I'll have plenty of money after I win tonight's power ball drawing. Call me if you want to go.

Hey guys, I was waiting for a report from up there. Thanks a bunch. [Smile] Sounds like the bite was on, but no keepers, huh? That's ok, right? Good fishun is good fishun. [Wink] Am anxious to here more reports, especially from Condie and Twin. Keep an eye open for an old man in a tube with a rowdy golden and say howdy, ok?
P.S. Take a look at my Gorge report.[Smile][Smile][Smile][Smile]

Nice post TS! I haven't fished up there for a couple years, even though it's not that far away! Did you buy the an Idaho Day License or do you have the full year?

I'm wondering when Treasureton will be good again...some people are thinking about a year and a half.

Great pics bro.

Lavaman,
Yeah I just bought a day license yesterday. I planned on buying a yearly one this year since I fished up there over 25 times last year, but now I may reconsider since gas prices are so high!!! My Dad is coming into town this week for the Holiday so we plan on being up there a couple times, so I may just break down and get the yearly!!! I havent heard much about Treasurton this year except for the fact that they think it had a bad winter kill. Havent fished it since I was a young pup, so maybe someone will chime in with a few answers. Porcupine heating up yet? Lets try and come up with a day/time to go there in the next couple of weeks!!!

Sounds good, TS! Porcupine, Willard, wherever you want to go.

The reason I fish mainly around here lately is just because of that: gas prices. I know many BFT'ers as well as myself can't afford to keep throwing $30-$50 into the gas tank every fishing trip.

As for Porcupine yesterday, I just had a couple hrs in the morning so I ran up there and fished from the bank; figured it was better than nothing. But...not even a bite. It wasn't even worth making a report in here. Nobody else that i saw over there hadn't caught anything either. I'm wondering if they even stock it anymore- who knows. I would like to catch a Koke out of there one of these days but you need the proper equipment for that, so....

We'll hit the water here soon, can't wait.

Here are a couple pictures from last year. Look how low the water was compared to this past weekend. That just makes fishing HOT HOT HOT since they have only a small area to pile up!!! Those were the trips where it was a fish every other cast Guaranteed!!!! But I much rather see these lakes full of water than how it was last year, was kind of depressing to see it like it was last summer since I have been fishing the Preston Area for over 20 years now!!!
