It only seems to get better...
#1
I was trying to get a hold of Z---801 so we could hit the Nell this afternoon...

I couldn't get away until 2:00 and was at Jordanelle by 3:15 (what a Zoo), Headed over to the place where on wednesday I found a few bigger bass but three other bass boats was there...

Headed to look for another place that was like that one and found it, I was fishing for a few min. when it started to rain and rain I had to put my camera away so it wouldn't get wet...

I hooked into one fish that took me in the brush and was gone, then another one same thing after a good jump but she broke me off soon all I was using was my braided line with no leader, oh yes its still raining...
I got my fourth fish to the boat a nice 5.8 lb smallie then another and so on, oh my it quiet raining and I tried to get a picture but now the wind is blowing about 50 it seems...
Out of this one spot I boated 17 bass two 5+ lbs and 1 4+ and 5 in the 3 lb class and lots of others I headed home about 7:30...

And its been a long time sense I had a sore arm from fishing....[Wink][fishin]

Sounds like a honey hole I found at pineview last week just with bigger fish. Were going to have to fish the Nell together one day.

The pictures are not that good but all I could do was set the camera on the seat next to my fishing buddy and I had to rap a rope around it to hold it, I hate pictures like this but its all I could think of...[:/][crazy]

Thanks TD for posting them...

It was lots of fun but a hart braker to lose the bigger ones to the brush...

But then the big ones are the ones that get away, and after there gone they only get bigger...[Wink]

I have notice that others must be jealous or envoius. I'm all for others catching nice fish. But I would like all of the bigger ones released also. The genes are what make big fish grow big, plus lots of forage.

That goes for ALL fish not just bass or trout....
Most states have a size limit on just about all game fish, but Utah is still years behind....

[cool][#0000ff]Happy to help with the pics.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I tried to lighten a couple of them to make the readings show up on the digital scales. But, unless you have the face of those things in full sunlight, the camera just doesn't want to show them well.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Nice fishies. Hope you are getting good benefits by showing off the sponsor stuff. At least it ain't chewin' terbaccy like a lot of them southern boys promote.[/#0000ff]

Great post bassrods. I figured you always drop shot but you said that only catches little ones. Care to share what you were using? PM me if you want.

That was kind of a joke...

Some others have posted on or about the drop shot not catching or winning any tournaments but that only shows how little they know....

There is no catch-all bait or lure that will work all the time, on some lakes one or the other type of lure class will work better then the other at one time or other...

Yesterday I tried cranks, senko types and drop shoting and even some top water, but I got all my fish on the Mojo drop shot with the gulp minnow, I tried Robo worms as well...

Last wednesday I got some on the senko types baits and on the drop shot some on the gulp and some on the Robo, if you fish through a good spot with one bait or lure and don't get anything or only get a tap try something else in the same spots but give them 5 to 10 mins in between...

If you are using what they want you can catch 2 to 50 fish from one spot...

The hard part is finding that spot...

If you mean that paper I hold??
Thats just to show that the fish picture is not an old one, I'm in a tournament with all the other that are sponsored as I am from coast to coast and right now I'm leading by more then 105 points...

Funny how that works. I guess ebass and I don't know how to fish those Gulp minnows on a drop-shot correctly. I went through a whole pack of those Gulp minnows up at Jordanelle and never caught a dang thing. I don't even remember getting a bite. I've seen ebass catch a couple of fish on them (mainly trout and Walleye...hehe), but it seems as though I always end up kicking his butt with Roboworms when he's drop-shotting those Gulp minnows. [cool] It must all be in the delivery...or something...

BTW...I am just a little jealous of so many big smallies in one trip...I just don't spend enough time on that lake I guess... I only wish I had that kind of money to spend on gas that often...

[cool][#0000ff]Haven't you found that you usually do better with baits you are CONFIDENT in? There is just something about success that gives you the edge you need to keep fishing something...and then to go back to it when you need a fish.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]How many times have you been just about to give up on something and then tried a little "something something" that made it work like a champ. It is the same with any lure. They all have their little twists that make a big difference in the success rate. Once you learn it and use it right, it will become one of your confidence baits.[/#0000ff]

Its like TD said, you need to learn how the fish want the lure you are using, not how you want them to take it....

I believe Cliff's dog might just be chomped on to the tails of those fish, adding some extra weight! [sly] Maybe you should teach it to take your pics for ya too! [:p]

Damn nice fishes, my friend!
