Took a friend and his 2 kids out for some wipers. We launched out of the North marina around 6:30 and headed toward the lite pole. About half way out there we started fishing and quickly picked up one little guy then it was dead for the next 1/2 hour or so. So we trolled towards the island and about half way there we started getting into the wipers. We stayed about 3/4 of a mile to 1/4 mile north of the island and just made circles for a bit. We ended up getting 1 big walleye and 9 or 10 wipers. # of those wipers were fat and pushing 20" the rest were the average 14". This was the first wipers and walleye for the kids and I think they had a blast.
We stayed out until the sun was out of sight, then motored up for the marina. On the way in I saw a small boil that went on for about 2 or 3 minutes. We also saw a couple more that just lasted for a second. All of our fish were caught on lipless lurles at 3.2- 3.5 mph.
