Has any one fished Twin yet or know what is going on there for fish. I talked to a friend who fished it about 3 weeks ago and he said he didnt do squat with either gill or slabs. I'd be curious to hear if any one is doing any good or not.

Fished Glendale yesterday and did a bang up job on slabs and gills with all good sizes and 2 - 4.5lb rainbows that we released since water is so warm theyd be pretty mushy, but what a fight. But what I wanted to say was, we got checked by the F&G CO on the way out for license, etc, and we talked to him about Twin Lakes, and he said they are all puzzled about the gill and crappie fishing there this year. And this is from F&G so if any one has anything different post it up, but, he said that no one is catching much of anything on gills and doesnt know of anyone getting any crappie this year after the banner year last year.
Any one have any ideas or thoughts on what is happening there. Bass fishging and trout still doing good, but others are very very poor according to the CO.

Could be that many are actually making a stand against the Twin Lakes Canal Co. That would amaze me but it would certainly please me.

My family went there the other day and we did pretty good. We caught 25 bluegill, 3 crappie, 4 perch and one very mean trout. The fishing was either on or off. The perch, crappie and trout was huge!! There is something amiss down there though. I wish I knew what it was.

Any pictures? How big was the Trout? What do you mean "there is something amiss down there"?

There was only big fish. We did not catch any of the last years baby fish. My husb and was the one that made that comment. The fishing is not as good as it has been. The trout was between 16 and 18 inches and sure faught! We thought maybe they didn't overwinter very well or that it dried out too fast for the bluegill to spawn.

Yep, thats exactly what Ive heard from the couple of folks who have fished it and pretty much in line with what the CO said in my post above. Wonder if it over populated last year and had a die off, but no one has reported seeing any dead fish after ice went off.
