Just about all lines can be seen in water, the red cajun is real easy to see... Red does not disappear in water...

Jason do you recommend for the best memory mono? I usually use 6 # low visibility line, but have always had to fight the memory thing.
thanks!

I use Trilene for my main line all the time. It's got some problems with spool memory but stays limp until alot of hard use. Here's a little tip I think you might find helpful. The Cajun line is really strong, and Trilene is pretty close to the same, with a little less spool memory. If you start getting kinks in the line, hook it to some immobile solid object and walk out beyond your usual casting distance, tighten the drag, and then stretch the line out. This wil pull the loops out and really improve the castability. If you are in a clear water situation where visibility can affect your presentation, attach some fluorocarbon leader line with an adequate length to keep the visible line out of the picture. Berkely Vanish is good but P-line is great.

Stren Hi-Vis Gold. I *want* to be able to see it under the water. I've caught too many light hitting fish where I can see the line move in the water long before the rod tip shows any action.

i must agree with bassrods on the red line not disappearing in water. one 2 separte occasions i went ice fishing with 2 different people both using cajun red line and i was using stren. neither one of them caught a thing while i was catching them right and left even though they were just a few feet away from me and using the exact same setup until they switched to another type of line. coincidence? i dont think so. anyway i do like the vanish by berkely and also the low vis green line as well.

Now as long as I am here,
Red is the first color to be filtered by any water color.
I only use pure 100% fluorocarbon, and I swear by it, the fish fear it[Wink]

An Fluoro is INVISIBLE in water, or should I say, light can't reflect off of it.
But it will not decay, so pick up all pieces.

I agree fluorocarbon is the way to go that is why I use berkley vanish.I tried P-line in 8lb test and I dont know if Igot some bad line or what but My first trip I kept breaking off every time I set the hook,I wet the line while tying my knots just like I do with all lines,It was only on two of my fishing rods and the vanish was on my other two, good thing or I would have run out of jig heads.I wont use anything else when using 8lb test, one added benfit is it doesn't break down like mono, and have very low memory.

Really? P-Line is my choice by far. Vanish does come in Fluoro Coated and 100% Fluoro, but you really have to look at the box to be sure, that is one reason I don't buy it. Plus it seems to get cloudy after awhile.
I don't have a clue on the P-Line you got. I mean fluoro is suppose to last forever so I didn't think you could get a BAD BATCH, but anything is possible.
Lately I have been using SEAGAR Fluorocarbon. It is smooth line for sure.
Have you tried it?

I don't worry about my spool line an awful lot...I do use Vanish for my leaders though. Great stuff.

Cajun Red isn't invisible like it claims. I have an underwater camera and it is as bright as it is on your reel all the way down to 50 ft. (As far as my camera goes)

If you want invisibility use flourocarbon. If you want to see your line above the surface use Stren Vanish in red or gold. It's great out of the box but gets brittle quick when exposed to long periods of sun.

P-line makes exceptional flouro casting line too but is better for a bait caster situation than spinning gear.

GREAT REPORT! DUKMAN.
Can't argue with an underwater camera.
Thanks for taking the time and doing the test.[cool]

Well I love Excalibur silver thread great line. Very clear. How ever on my big swim bait rod and a casting rod I have switched to Suffix Braid in hi-vis Yellow with a P-line Leader. I love this combo as I can easily see my line above the water and the fish can not below the water. I have also switched to using a cheap mono backing and than just a 100 or so feet of good line, and just replace as necessary.

On the Cajun red I have some on an ice rod and it works well but I have always tipped with P-line.
