[cool]We've had some good questions and discussions on fins lately. It has prompted me to start beefing up the info I originally put into my book, in the accessories chapter. I will be working on a special writeup over the next couple of weeks on some of the factors to review in making a personal purchase of fins.
Of course, a lot of it is much like the considerations for buying a tube or 'toon. What is your budget? What kind of fishing do you do? How big and strong are you? What kind of footwear do you prefer for tubing, etc.?
I would like to open this up to input from everyone. We have already had some voluntary divulgence of what we use and prefer, but I would encourage you to think about several things before posting...if you do so. Did you buy the fins on purpose...or only because you got a smokin' deal? What do you like best about them? Least? If you could design your ideal fin, what would it be...and why?
Should be able to have some educational fun here, and really assess our choices. To help everybody fully realize what the choices and options are, I have collected the web addresses for some of the major manufacturers. If you have the time, do some reading and think about the different features and options they list. Don't get bogged down in the sales terminologies and rhetoric. Just ask yourself..."Would that make a positive difference in my flotation fishing?"
