Me and some buddies have a cabin on Island Park from the 11th-16th of August. I'm bringing my 12'er for IP and we would like to hit Henry's once or twice and the rivers. Any help or suggestions would be most appreciated. PM me if that's better. We're coming up from Salt Lake City. We're going into Yellowstone for a day or two as well. How good is the fishing at Island Park? Henry's is popular, how will it be that week? Henry's fork will be on the menu to fish as well. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

you should stay home. the lake has been drained completely and IP fishing is horrible this year.

Saturday me and my wife caught 12 fish on Island Park . 4 pounds was the biggest . They are doing well on Henry's where Targee Creek dumps in , but the wind is makeing it hard to stay out very long .

Thank you very much for the information and updates. I'm just curious, because I do some bait fishing still, has anyone tried Powerbait up at Henry's or Island Park this summer? If so how well have you done?

I have tried it this week with no luck . We are doing our best just outside of Trudes bay in 26' of water . With a night crawler shot full of air , floated about 12" of the bottom . At Henry's the fly fishermen are doing well , I don't know what they are using . The bait fishermen are doing well with the old standard . Marshmellow , night crawler and tipped with a kernel of corn . P.S. corn is legal in Idaho . Good luck

you could possibly do well with bait, but from what I have heard fly fishing is out producing bait fishing.

I agree with the flies, and if you got the gear, what the heck. HOT CHOCOLATE!

Henrys Lake Renegade, Mity Mouse, Beadhead Mity Mouse after the sun comes up with a Brown CB or Hot Chocolate early in the morning. Fishing is best from 6 a.m. until 9 - early morning. Duck Creek on the west side is also producing well with the same flies.
