Starvation - August 9th
#1
Didnt get up to the lake until around 7:00. A little windy to go to suggested topwater spot. Headed over to Rabbit Gulch and drooled at all the potential bass cover but only got perch hits. This is my first time fishing Starvation so I had to figure out some things. Left Bunny Cove and headed to the bridge, third cast a landed two smallies on one crankbait...one bigger and one smaller. Motored around and found some perch near the shore under the opposite side of the bridge. The wind started picking up and we could see clouds forming. Ended up across from the ramp along the cliffs with cranks. Caught a small smallie that caughed up a partially digested crawdad. I threw craw colored cranks the rest of the day. Landed a couple other nice smallies with a couple of walleye thrown in. On the lake until 3:15 when a bolt of lightning cracked directly over us..."time to go!" It was a great time. I want to fish other parts of the lake and get some more smallies. I know there are some large fish in there.

Thanks to all who gave advice. I really appreciate it.
