color changing large mouth?

well i caught some large mouth bass today they were al about 3/4 of a pound and when i caught them they were a bronze color and after about 20 seconds they turned back to there normal color why was this

Sometimes the color change has to do with the length of the fight and the amount of lactic acid as a result.

Other times the sudden temperature change can do the same. I have seen this several times when pulling them from cold water out into the hot air.[cool]
