I guess it's time to start hitting the rivers again, It kills me everytime I drive by the middle Provo and see all the vehicles parked there, I just can't do that combat fishing anymore. So back to my honey holes starting next week.

Don't forget to bring along some terrestrials this time of year. I had a blast with hoppers today on that stream we fished earlier this year. Didn't encounter a single person while on the water. Let me know if you're ever up for that float this fall.

Remo: That big, wide, slow river you like up north, where the wind blows and there's lots of sagebrush, has been fishing ok. Good hatches in the am, though the fish don't seem to care much yet, and a brief window of risers between sunset and dark. I haven't tossed any streamers, but I was up there for a few days last weekend, and caught a few nice-sized ones (BIG for anywhere else) on dries every day. Not lots of numbers, but quality, as usual for there.

Good info, thanks Jim. It's never about the numbers up there just the quality of the fish (oh yeah and no people). It's a little early for the big ones still but another month and it should really pick up. When do you head down to the Keys? I sure would like to get down there and fish with you!! I am heading to Costa Rica in January and hopefully break in a 12 wt. on something BIG!!!

Hey Jim, what flies are you tossing into that wind? I hate throwing the small stuff even if it's calm but if the big flies are working might be worth a try.
