[#000080]I think I posted one time on the difference between a swich rod and a spey rod.. and I got a lot of good answers and comments.. so lets try something new along the same lines.. [/#000080]
[#000080][/#000080]
[#000080]I was reading an article in an on line magazine about tfo's new mini magnum rod.. the article touts how this shorter 8' rod can handle fresh and salt water fish that use thick cover (lilly pads or seaweed).. [/#000080]
[#000080][/#000080]
[#000080].. now.. being the curious george that I am I went to the tfo site and tried to find this new rod.. closest I came to it was their axiom.. then I decide.. Ill go on line and look it up there.. .. here comes the BEEF!!!![/#000080]
[#000080][/#000080]
[#000080]at least 80% of the ads list the rod as the mini magnum AXIOM!!! ...[/#000080]
[#000080][/#000080]
[#000080]are these people just intentionally trying to confuse the consumer.. why advertise something that does not show up on the site.. or confuse the issue with using two differen names (i.e. mini magnum and axiom)....[/#000080]
[#000080][/#000080]
[#000080]if I am in the market to buy something.. I am less likely to buy it if I cant find it.. or I find it listed under multiple headings.. [/#000080]
[#000080][/#000080]
[#000080].. how do you all feel about this type of advertising/search and hope you find kind of advertising.. its no wonder I have money saved up for something to buy .. I cant buy it if I cant find it [mad][mad][mad][mad][/#000080]

[#008000][Image: happy.gif]I couldn't find it either MacFly. However, the TFO site does have a contact e-mail address. I would send them an e-mail regarding your question. I do that quite often and the manufacturers will reply in a day or two.[/#008000]
[#008000]This is the info that I found on their site. Perhaps you have all ready read it, if so now you know as much as I do. LOL[/#008000]

By Marshall Cutchin on August 18, 2008 7:47 AM | Permalink | Comments (0)
Temple Fork Outfitters just announced a new 3-piece, 8' rod designed to provide extra fish-fighting power in both fresh- and saltwater. The Mini Magnum retails for $199.95.

[#008000]Temple Fork Outfitters New Mini Magnum Fly Rod[/#008000]
[#008000]What do big fish that live in and around all types of heavy cover have in common? Once hooked they will kick your butt before burrowing into the thickest junk they can find! Don't let them kick your rod's butt too. The new "Mini Magnum" by Temple Fork Outfitters was designed, with help from Nick Curcione, well, to kick butt back.[/#008000]
[#008000]The 8' Mini Magnum utilizes Temple Fork's Bluewater technology (a hybrid combination of S-Glass and high-modulus carbon fiber for exceptional lifting power and casting ability), but is equally at home in both fresh and salt waters. So go ahead and throw your favorite popper into that tight spot, once eaten there's enough butt strength to yard bucketmouth & pike out of the lilly pads, rip mossback yellows & seabass from the kelp beds or haul backcountry snook & tarpon away from the mangroves.[/#008000]
[#008000]Every Bluewater rods goes through TFO's proprietary TiCr coating process twice, adding power and durability. The rich blue granite finish on the 3 piece Mini Mag blank is quite distinctive. The rod itself features oversized stripping and snake guides, a channeled and cushioned up-locking reel seat set in a flor grade full wells grip with fighting butt and has a casting window of 300-400 grains. Suggested retail is $199.95.[/#008000]
[#008000]All TFO rods feature a lifetime unconditional warranty. Simply return the damaged rod with $25 for shipping and handling, and we will repair or replace your rod.
