Fished Strawberry with MGB Saturday and Sunday. Launched about 7:30am and seen NETO at the ramp, good to meet you Randy and your family.
Started out with some minor boat problems that set us back about an hour. Got over to our area that we thought would be holding an active school and with in 5 minutes MGB and I where into some fast catching. Caught over 90 cutts from 8:30 - 2:30. I got big fish honors catching a 26 and a quater inch / 6 pound 3 ounce cutt. I also caught a 23 inch cutt and MGB caught him a 23 incher also.
Sunday started out good 2 of the first three fish where over the slot a 24 inch / 4 pound 14 ounce cutt caught by MGB and a 23 incher that I caught. The catching was not as fast as the day before, we where over a good school but the bites where not as often as the day before. We decided to relocate thinking we could do better but never did get into some fast catching, only ended up with about 12 for the day.

We where using pearl, glow and peppered pearl 2.5" fat tube jigs with 3/8 oz. jig heads tipped with a small piece of chub. We caught them vertical jiging in 39'- 40' of water.
The weather was good Saturday but Saturday night a storm moved in. Sunday was windy most of the day. We hoped to fish Monday morning but it was raining too hard so we packed up and went home.
I think the Saturday night storm shut them down. Sunday we where in the same spot marking fish on the finder, MGB droped his under water camera down and could see alot of fish but they would not bite they would swim right past our jigs..

Yee Haa, I love that report. Glad you got into some. I went up alone to my favorite spots in early August and only caught 1 - - they were scattered all over the place and I marked plenty of fish but they weren't interested. I decided to wait awhile for them to get more cooperative. Those are some nice fish you got. And the catching can only get better with fall coming. Well, I guess it doesn't get any better, does it? Unless you don't have any boat problems. Thanks for the report, maybe we'll see you up there sometime.

It was good to meet you also Rose, and to see MGB again. That fish you caught was a TOAD!!!
After you and MGB left on Saturday afternoon, we experienced kind of the same situation that you describe for Sunday...the fish were there, and they would follow our lures up and down on the finder, but they just wouldn't bite. I think it was also the stormfront coming in that shut them down...seen it before.

Thanks, No it didn't really feel like i had a 26" fish on my hook. It didn't really fight until i reel it to the boat then it made a couple runs...When we plan the next trip yes we would like you and your family to join us. We drove by the spot you told MGB we didn't see any fish there the wind was blowing pretty hard and it would of been hard to hold our positin..

well that's a cutthroat for you.like reelling in a walleye,I figured when you set the hook you would have felt alot more weight than usual? It would be a pleasure to fish with you two, always is! The wife doesn't really like to fish so I take the kids when I can, there teenagers and have better things to do than fish with dad most of the time but they got pretty pumped to go after seeing that 26 you caught.LOL.Let me know.
thanks,fnf[cool]

In early August we where finding schools in 57' of water. We had to spend a little time looking but once we found them it was good fishing. Over the 24th of July weekend we caught over 200 fishing in water 52'-60'.
See you up there.
